...And I only knew that because I got both Red and Green in the original Japanese versions. Like, the first week of release. Didn't understand a word of it. Guess that's why I never beat it...
...All I know is that the cool color is always the name of the rival and the warm color is the name of the MC.

Well, either way the games were all epic. Glitches are so fun. It would have been neat had they made a movie or dedicated an episode to Missingno or whatever that pokemon's name was. >: It wasn't real, though, and just evolved into a Kangaskan so I guess it's only natural.
